Rain on Saturday at the US Open has forced the postponement of the men's doubles final and the completion of a women's doubles semi-final to Sunday, tournament officials announced.

The women's doubles semi-finals were halted with Australians Samantha Stosur and Rennae Stubbs leading Zimbabwe's Cara Black and American Liezel Huber 7-5.

The men's doubles final between India's Leander Paes and Czech Lukas Dlouhy and India's Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles of Bahamas, moments away from starting when showers struck, was also moved to Sunday.

Spanish third seed Rafael Nadal was able to complete a rain-hit 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-2) 6-0 men's quarter-final victory over Chilean 11th seed Fernando Gonzalez before the downpours returned. The match was stopped Thursday night and unable to resume earlier due to a total washout on Friday.
